Seven trading days. That's how long the market gave me nothing. Days of chop I stood aside on. Days I read right and got stopped a few ticks early. One day I let outside noise into my head and faded my own plan. Red, flat, red, nothing, nothing — over and over.
And I know exactly what the old me would have done with that. Grind harder. Study another two hours. Trade another two. Force a setup out of a market that wasn't offering one, because standing still felt like losing. My whole life I've believed the answer to falling short is more of me.
That belief is exactly what blew accounts. It's what turned a single bad moment into a four-trade spiral. Every time things got slow or uncertain, I'd reach for effort — and effort, pointed at the wrong thing, just digs the hole faster.
So this month I did something that used to feel impossible for me. I committed to a reset — a 30-day stretch of leaning on the Holy Spirit, documenting every single trade, and trusting the process instead of my own strength. His process, not mine. On the days the market gave nothing, I took nothing, and I didn't punish myself for it. I let the plan I'd already built do its job instead of overriding it with more hours and more willpower.
"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Then came the eighth day. I woke up late — the exact kind of morning that used to wreck a day before it started. But I didn't reach for the charts. I got out of bed and I got on my knees. I remembered my wife needs me to lead, and that the Holy Spirit is here with me — present, in the room. So I prayed.
And the day delivered. One A+ setup, taken clean, trailed out for +2R. Same chart I'd had all week. Same skills. Same account. The only thing different was who I was when I sat down.
That single day did what seven days of grinding never could have. I was down 2R on the week — and one trade clawed the whole hole back to breakeven, and put the account up 3.7R on the month of August — a green month. And here's the part I keep sitting with: it happened inside the reset. Not during my hardest push — during the month I finally stopped trying to carry it alone and just documented the truth, every single day.
Waking up late doesn't change your trading. What you do in the twenty minutes after does.
Seven days of the market taking, and it only took one day of trust to give it all back and then some. Not because I finally tried hard enough — but because I finally stopped trying to carry it alone.
