Liquidity Hunting · ER Model · A+ · Day 1 / 30
August 3 — One Trade, One Win. And The Runner That Got Away.
The morning bias called a clear draw on liquidity above — Midnight, London Highs, PDH. One trade: an A+ Expansion → Retracement long below midnight, off a CISD into the First Presented FVG, targeting that stacked draw. I banked a winner — but I trailed my runner too tight and got trailed out early, and then the market delivered full TP without me, running clean to the PDH. A green Day 1, and a precise lesson: the read was right, the market proved the runner had room, and my trail didn't let me ride it.

The Trade — A+ Expansion Retracement Long

01
The draw — stacked highs above
Midnight, London Highs, and the PDH sat above as a clean draw on liquidity, exactly as the pre-market bias called. That's what price was being pulled toward — a named target before the trade ever went on.
02
The setup — CISD off the low, below midnight
Price swept the 1H SSL and printed a bullish CISD (the 3rd of the count) into the First Presented FVG, below the midnight open — in discount. The confirmation and the array lined up in the same spot.
03
The entry — the A+ stack
Every box checked: below midnight, CISD confirmation, FP FVG aligned, clear draw on liquidity. When all four agree, you don't overthink it — you take the retracement into the PDA and let it deliver.
04
The delivery — full TP, without me
Price expanded off the entry up through the 1:1 and toward the draw. I banked a winner but trailed my runner too tight and got clipped at a low — then the market ran the rest of the way to full TP at the PDH. The read was right; my trail just didn't let me ride it all.
Why It Graded A+
Below Midnight — in discount
CISD Confirmation (3/3 count)
FP FVG aligned — first presented gap
Clear draw on liquidity above
The One Refinement
Trail behind structure, not price.
The trade was A+ and the market delivered full TP — I just wasn't on it, because I trailed my runner a touch too tight and got clipped at a low right before the last leg to the draw. A little antsy. And that's the useful part: the market proved the runner had room — the full delivery is the receipt. The fix is simple: move the stop only when a new swing forms under it, not tick by tick. When the setup is this clean and the draw is named, the runner has earned the room to actually reach it. That's the difference between a good win and the full one.
