ER Model + Consolidation Model · Two Trades

July 8 — NQ Long Recap

Two A-grade setups targeting London & Asia Highs — one breakeven, one loss. This is what documented trading actually looks like: valid setups, correct execution, and an honest breakdown of why the day finished red. The lesson of the day is LRL vs HRL — and it's worth more than a green screenshot.

Trade 1 — ER Model long
MNQ1! 1-min · ER Model · Discount BISI entry · REQH target · Below Midnight Open
01
Discount PDA — BISI
Price retraced into a Buy-Side Imbalance (BISI) sitting in the discount half of the dealing range. Buying from discount, at a PDA the algorithm respects — the foundation of the long.
02
Clear Expansion Before Entry
A clean impulsive expansion leg confirmed the direction of delivery before we ever looked for an entry. The ER Model only fires after expansion proves intent — the retracement is where we align.
03
REQH Above
Relative Equal Highs resting above price — engineered liquidity the algorithm has a reason to reach for. That pool was the draw.
04
Below Midnight Open
Price was trading below the Midnight Open price. Below MO, the highest-probability delivery for the session is higher — narrative filter aligned with the long.
Why It Was An A — Not An A+
The entry model was correct. The execution was correct. The problem was the quality of the target. The DOL above had already been swept with displacement on the lower timeframe — that made it High Resistance Liquidity (HRL). An A+ requires LRL as the target: failure swings stacking cleanly toward the draw. HRL resists delivery, and that resistance is exactly what stalled the run and sent this trade back to breakeven.

Trade 2 — Consolidation Model long
MNQ1! 1-min · Consolidation Model · Manipulation into 15min BISI · CISD + MSS · LRL above
01
Manipulation Into 15min BISI
Price manipulated down into a 15-minute BISI — the sweep drove straight into a higher-timeframe PDA. Manipulation into a supporting array is exactly what the Consolidation Model calls for.
02
CISD + MSS
After the manipulation, price closed in the opposing direction (CISD) and shifted market structure (MSS). Both confirmations printed — order flow had flipped long.
03
LRL Above
Low Resistance Liquidity above — failure swings stacked back-to-back forming a gradual trendline toward the target. The cleanest kind of draw the algorithm can deliver into.
04
Below Midnight Open
Same narrative filter as Trade 1 — below MO, the algorithm favors delivery higher. Both trades were aligned with the session's draw on London & Asia Highs.
Nothing To Correct
This was a high-quality setup — manipulation into the 15min BISI, CISD and MSS both confirmed, LRL above as the draw. Perfect Consolidation Model execution. The trade simply didn't play out. An A-grade setup that loses is still an A-grade setup. Take the same trade every time — the edge is in the sample, not the single result.
Lesson of the Day — LRL vs HRL
The difference between an A and an A+
LRL — LOW RESISTANCE
Failure swings stacking back-to-back, forming a gradual trendline toward the target. Clean, easy for the algorithm to deliver into. This is what an A+ target looks like.
HRL — HIGH RESISTANCE
Liquidity already swept with strong displacement away. Hard to target — price tends to trade away from it. Caps the setup at an A, no matter how clean the entry.
THE HTF RULEThe higher timeframe narrative was LRL pointing up — but the 1-minute created HRL above. The HTF is always stronger in theory, and you never fade it — but LTF HRL between you and the draw is friction you have to respect in your grading. Know which one you're targeting before you take the entry.
