Daily Narrative

August 20 — NQ Long Or Nothing

The higher timeframes are still bullish — the monthly is holding above its BISI, just not pushing higher yet. And price is sitting inside a no-short zone: the Weekly BISI. So the rule for today is simple and it's a rule, not a lean — long or nothing. It does not matter how clean a short looks; while we're inside this BISI I'm not taking it. The draw is a dip down into the Weekly BISI around 29,150, and the only trade I want is the reversal back up out of it. Posted before the open, judged after.

Top of the stack first. The monthly is still bullish — price is holding above the Monthly BISI and the higher-timeframe intent hasn't changed. What it's doing right now is failing to push to higher prices; it's stalling rather than reversing. So the read from up here isn't 'get bearish,' it's 'the bull case is intact but paused.' That single fact sets the tone for everything below: I'm not looking to fight the monthly.

NQ 1W — Weekly — Inside The No-Short Zone

This is the chart that makes the rule. Price is sitting inside a big Weekly BISI — a bullish array — with the deeper Monthly BISI beneath it. As long as we're inside that zone, it's a no-short zone for me, and I mean that literally: I don't care how clean a short looks in here. Shorting into a bullish HTF array is selling where smart money is buying. The zone decides the direction filter before any setup does.

The daily makes it a hard rule for the session. We're in the no-short zone, and today that means: it doesn't matter if a short setup grades A+ — this is a no-day for shorts until we're out of this Weekly BISI. The draw is down into the Weekly BISI / DOL around 29,150, and the path I'm watching is a dip into it and then a reversal back up. A short into the draw is the exact trap the zone exists to warn me off.

NQ 4H — 4H — Long Or Nothing

Same message, execution-timeframe version: long or nothing today. There's a Daily SIBI above around 29,800–30,050 as overhead supply, and the Weekly BISI below as the array I want price to react from. Between those, the only trade I'm interested in is a long off the lower array. If price doesn't give me a clean reversal up out of the BISI, I take nothing — I don't flip and short just because it's moving down.

NQ 1H — 1H — Dip Into The BISI, Then Up

Execution view. Price has sold down to ~29,350, into the DOL and the top of the Weekly BISI, with an Obstacle just above around 29,400–29,500 and the 12am open overhead. The path drawn is a dip deeper into the Weekly BISI toward 29,150, sweeping the sellside, and then a reversal up through the PDH. So the trade only exists after price takes the draw below and shows me a shift back up. Down first to grab liquidity, then the long — that's the only version I'm taking.

The One Thing To Respect

The no-short zone is a rule I'm setting before the open precisely so a good-looking short can't talk me out of it mid-session. This is exactly the setup that has burned me before — a clean bearish move inside a bullish HTF array, where the shape begs to be shorted and the context says don't. Price can absolutely trade down into the Weekly BISI today; that's the draw. But trading down to the array is not permission to short into it. The move down is something I let happen so I can buy the reaction out of it. If that reversal never sets up cleanly, the answer is nothing — not a short. Long or nothing means nothing is on the table too.
