October 6 — The Bias Said Sit Out, The Reaction Showed Up.

The bias was probably sitting out in ATH conditions, with a reaction at the highs as the only reason to trade. Price spiked into the high at the open and reversed, and I took a short off a CISD. It moved in my favor, then came back, and I was out at breakeven. I grade the setup A-.

October 6 — MNQ 1m spike at the open, CISD short, with NQ 15m and ES 1m
MNQ 1m · spike at the open · CISD short · NQ 15m + ES 1m
The plan was to sit out unless price reacted at the highs. Price spiked into the high around the 9:30 open and reversed, and the CISD gave me a short entry. The trade went in my favor first, then came back, and I took breakeven. A valid setup that didn't pay is the system working, not a mistake.
The Takeaway
Sit out until it reacts.
The bias said probably sitting out, and that was the right default for ATH conditions. But it also named the one thing that would change that: a reaction at the highs. When the reaction showed up, the CISD gave me an entry.

If you took this short and got breakeven, nothing went wrong. A-grade setups don't pay every time, and getting out flat is far better than turning a good read into a loss.
