September 11 — NQ Wedged Between Two PDAs

Low conviction today, and I'd rather post that than invent certainty. The weekly is respecting a Weekly BISI — four days now holding the C.E. of that gap — which makes shorting this area hard. The daily shows exactly why the last stretch has chopped: price is wedged between a Daily SIBI above and the Weekly BISI below. Chop isn't random; it has a cause. Intraday my bias is unsure — this looked like an easy short before the data wick, and the one sequence I can see is taking the data high out first, then the selloff.

NQ 1W — Weekly — Respecting The Gap, Which Makes Shorting Hard

We're sitting inside a Weekly BISI, and the detail that matters is duration: price has now respected the C.E. of that weekly gap for four straight days. Four days of holding a level isn't noise — it's the array doing its job, and it tells me the bullish weekly structure underneath is live. That doesn't make me bullish here. What it does is make shorting this area genuinely difficult, because a short from inside a working bullish weekly gap is a fight with the higher timeframe. Rule I keep: HTF always overrides LTF.

Here's the whole picture in one frame: a Daily SIBI sits above us and the Weekly BISI sits below us, and price is wedged in the middle of the two. That's why the last stretch has felt like chop — and it's worth saying clearly, because it reframes how you treat it: chop is not random. It has a cause, and the cause is that price is trapped between two higher-timeframe arrays with no room to commit in either direction. When you can name why the market is chopping, you stop trying to trade through it and start waiting for it to resolve out of one side.

NQ 1H — 1H — Unsure, And I'm Saying So

Being honest: my bias today is unsure. Before the data wick this looked like a genuinely easy short day. The 8:30 print changed that and left a data high above us. The one path I can see with any clarity is price reaching up to take that data high out first, and then getting the selloff. That's a sequence, not a conviction — and I'm not going to dress it up as more than it is. No clean draw means the honest answer is 'I don't know yet,' which is itself a valid read.

The One Thing To Respect

Three timeframes are telling me three versions of the same thing: the weekly says shorting is hard, the daily says we're wedged, and the 1H says I don't know. That's not a setup, that's a caution flag flown three times. An unsure bias is a perfectly valid bias — it's real information about the market. What it is not is a reason to go hunting.

So the rules are written before the open, not during it: no clean draw means no size, the data high has to actually be taken before any short is on the table, and the daily limit is what it's always been — two trades or −2R, whichever comes first. Wedged-between-PDAs markets are exactly where accounts leak, because every failed push looks like the start of a move. Name the chop, respect the cause, and let it resolve out of one side before engaging.
