Discipline · The Rule Held
September 16 — A+ Only, And None Showed Up.
The plan going into the day was narrow on purpose: A+ setups only, half size. The higher timeframes were distorted by the contract rollover, and FOMC sat in the afternoon — my window closes well before the release, so I was really only ever trading the pre-event coil. Nothing that showed up in that window graded A+. So I took nothing. Passing was the plan working, not the plan failing.

The Session — Nothing Graded A+
No chart posted · pre-event coil, nothing worth sizing into
Exactly the kind of session the morning bias warned about: thin, false-start price action ahead of the release, on a day the higher timeframes weren't giving a clean read anyway. Nothing that printed inside my window — the one that closes before FOMC — met the A+ bar the bias set. So the half-size rule never even had to get used. The real discipline was setting the bar before the open, not defending it during the session.
Passing Is The Plan Working
A half-size rule you never have to use is still the rule doing its job.
The bias named the difficulty in advance and drew a narrow bar: A+ only. The honest outcome is that nothing in my window cleared it. That's not the same as a slow day costing me a trade — a genuinely thin, rollover-distorted, pre-FOMC session is exactly the environment the A+-only rule exists to filter out, and it did.
The temptation on a day like this is to lower the bar just once, since the rule was written for "half size," not "zero." But half size on a C-grade setup is still trading a C-grade setup. The rule was written before the open, and holding it when nothing shows up is the same discipline as holding it mid-trade — it just doesn't look like anything on the chart. No trade, no size used, nothing to defend after the fact.
